Over 300,000 people used #NUT #schoolcuts app just yesterday #GE17

As the SKWAWKBOX covered at the end of April, in a single weekend half a million people used the NUT’s school-cuts app in a single weekend to find out the impact of Tory education cuts on their children’s schooling and life chances. The trigger for that surge in use of an already-popular resource was Labour’s announcement of its plans not only to protect education spending but to boost it and to create an ‘NHS of Education’ – a National Education Service to ensure no child misses out.

That demand has not lessened as the General Election campaign has progressed. In fact, it appears to be increasing.

schoolcuts1As the NUT’s Kevin Courtney announced yesterday evening, an astonishing 300 thousand people used the site just on Saturday – and he made his announcement at 9.27pm, so there was time for a substantial increase before the end of the day.
